Many bloggers dream of blogging for profits. This goal is not far beyond the reach of someone with average intelligence, a inclination to work hard, and a basic knowledge of blogging technology.

However, very few people manage to reach the profits they want from their blog.

The vast majority who attempt to make money with their blogs don’t succeed for two reasons.

1 – Often, bloggers have unrealistic expectations of how quick their readership will grow and how much money they will make.

     When these expectations are not met the disappointment can crush the desire to continue blogging.

2 – The other pitfall that many bloggers fall into has to do with lack of planning.

      If you want to make money as a blogger, the key to success is to make a realistic long term plan and stick with it.

To succeed at blogging and make money, the main thing that you will need is a large audience.

The higher your traffic, the more advertisers will agree to pay you.

However, cultivating the regular visitors that you will need in order to make a profit isn’t easy.

As more and more blogs appear each day, having a great idea or a wonderful writing style is no longer enough to get attention.

You need to be able to market your blog effectively.

Too many bloggers invest too much time writing posts and almost no time marketing their articles.

To be sure, updating as often as you can is the best way to keep your blog high on blogrolls and high in blog search engines. Once your readers know that you update frequently your Blog, they will subscribe and return to your site on a regular basis.

However, it does not matter how often you update if no one is reading your page.

It’s crucial to never skimp on the time that you spend to attract visitors to your site.

To make your dreams of blogging for profit a reality, it’s a great strategy to  :

  • Decreasing your number of posts;
  • Using some of that time to attract new visitors;
  • Setting up link exchanges with other bloggers;
  • Making contacts in the blog community;
  • And following other established modes of winning traffic.

Obviously, even if you are a marketing virtuoso or have a really great idea for a blog, success is not going to happen overnight.

Building the kind of audience that blogging for profit needed takes time, and more then likely it will be at least a few months before you are able to turn your blog into profit.

Set Goals

Try to stay committed to your blogging project during this initial growing period.

To stay motivated, set goals for how often you will update and how many readers you want to attract, and then reward yourself for sticking with your plan.

A quick note about the reviews on this site: I am an affiliate for every product I review. The vendors of these products give me them without charge in order for me to test them. However all my reviews are done as honestly as possible and I make no promises to the vendor prior to writing my review. Should you click a link on this site that takes you to a paid product this link will be an affiliate link and I will be paid a percentage of the sales price should you decide to purchase that product.
